Carlo Andrea Bollino is a visiting professor at department of Energy Systems at the Technische Universität Berlin. He currently works as a Professor of Economics at University of Perugia and Professor of Energy Economics at the University LUISS, Rome. He is the President of AIEE, Italy (Italian Association for Energy Economics) since 2014 and has been President of IAEE (International Association for Energy Economics in 2008). Furthermore, since 2015 Prof. Bollino is visiting researcher at KAPSARC, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
He was appointed by the Minister of Industry of Italy, in June 2001, as Energy Advisor to the Minister and in June 2003, President of GRTN (Italian Electric Transmission network). He has been Chief Economist, ENI; Economist, Bank of Italy; Research Associate, Project Link for the United Nations. Bollino was educated in Economics at Bocconi University, Italy (BA 1977) and University of Pensylvania (MA 1981; PhD 1983, with Nobel Winner Prof. Lawrence Klein). He was Lecturer and Professor of Economics also at Universities of Pennsylvania (USA), Campobasso, Sassari and Urbino (Italy).
His research fields are Econometric modeling, Consumer behavior, Energy markets, Sustainable and Renewable Energy, Liberalization and Regulation Policy. Author of over 200 scientific articles. He has testified to Italy Senate and Parliament briefings, and has provided various governments with technical and policy reports on electricity market liberalization and renewable energy development. He is Chief Editor of the Review of Economics and Institutions.
